TED Talks, A must.

I am always looking for inspiration. I do not like to live uninspired. I believe it to be of great importance for one to invest in one’s self development. TED talks do that for me. I am trying to listen to one a month, and when time makes it possible, four! There’s no such thing as too much learning, too much inspiration. Fill your days with things that push you to be better, things that open up your mind and, things that make you think & question.

Are you new at this TED thing? I have four TED talks that I will recommend, one is thought provoking, one challenges the status quo, one for all those sex questions you have, and one…well one because I love Shah Rukh Khan.

We should all be feminists – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

The mother of African literature, also one of my favorite authors, gives this talk that sheds light on the misconceptions surrounding feminism, and beautifully dissects this topic and makes it so easy for everyone to understand. Feminism isn’t as complex as people make it out to be. If you don’t believe me, watch for yourself.

The secret to desire in a long term relationship – Esther Perel

Are we asking love to do too much for us? Do we expect so much from our partners that our relationships are doomed to lose their excitement over time and become monotonous? How do we manage our need for stability and safety alongside our yearnings for adventure and newness?

I am just as curious as you in regards to such topics. I want to learn, find out how to be better at relationships, what expectations to lay on your partner etc. Of course experience is the best teacher in comparison to watching from the sidelines, but if there’s something I can learn, I will always listen.

What makes a good life? Lessons from the longest study on happiness – Robert Waldinger

How can I pass by such a title? I want to know what makes life good, and although this is subjective, there must be some common or shared experiences that we can agree on ‘yes, I feel the same way about this. This makes my life feel so good.’

“If you think it’s fame and money, well…

Thoughts on humanity, fame and love – Shah Rukh Khan

I am a lover of all things love, and when I saw that Khan had a talk about this, I thought to myself, ‘who better than SRK on this topic?’ If you’ve watched as many Bollywood movies as I have, you will not be disappointed by our Khan. This talk is funny, full of wisdom, and, ‘Khan traces the arc of his life, showcases a few of his famous dance moves and shares hard-earned wisdom from a life spent in the spotlight.’ I could watch this over and over and over and I would not tire of it.

What TED talks have inspired you? Feel free to share with me and do not forget to subscribe to the blog.

Have a fantastic week beautiful people.
